FCCLA

The Children’s Miracle Network  in Fargo is FCCLA’s Chapter Service Project for the next 5 years.  Our 2012 State Officers and District Presidents  including our own Mattea Bierman challenged FCCLA chapters across the state to raise 20,000 per year.   These dollars will be used to  sponsor a specialized hospital room for children 0-18 years of age and to create an endowment to replace or add equipment when needed.  The dollars raised stay in North Dakota for North Dakota Families! In 2016 North Dakota FCCLA chapters have done it!!!!!!!! We  have completed the goal $110,183.88.

A huge thank you to all of you that have purchased Rips for Children’s Miracle Network!

Unlimited Possibilities – UP for the Challenge was the theme for the District 7 FCCLA Leadership meeting November 23 at the Bear Creek Lodge in Verona.  170 Students from 9 schools attended. LaMoure FCCLA had 21 of 23 members attended.  Chesnea Heyd our current district VP of STAR Events and Chapter President along with 11 district officers presided over the meeting.  Dr. Gina Kelly – Assistant Professor of Sociology from NDSU was the speaker for the event encouraging FCCLA members to rise to each challenge in your life, the world is full of unlimited possibilities, and spoke about the challenges she has faces in her life as a marathon runner and faced as a student pursuing and then getting her Doctorate Degree.  She encouraged members to be persistent and optimistic as you never know how a race or life can present a challenge.   Karly Just was installed and the 2017 VP of STAR Events, and Brooke Glynn was elected and installed as District President.  LaMoure’s Voting Delegates were Noah Pedersen and Bailey Sandness.

One of the community service projects that ND FCCLA is participating in for the current year is raising awareness of and raising funds for the Ronald McDonald House.  District 7 did a Miracle Minute and collected all the monies it could in one minute.  The total came to $113.87.  Members also paid $1 to wear jeans to the meeting.  This money will all be donated to Ronald McDonald House.
