PreK - 3

The PreK - 3rd grade music program under the direction of Mrs. Lehr gives our young students the time for musical discovery and creative expression throughout their years in her program. Students are able to explore singing, movement, and instrument playing to build the children’s skills in the elements of rhythm, melody, & harmony. Mrs. Lehr's classroom provides enriching experiences that become integrated into students' lifelong appreciation of music!

Curriculum Ensembles

Band

The LaMoure Public School band program, under the direction of Mrs. Lebahn, gives 5th grade, 6th grade, junior high (7-8), and high school (9-12) students the opportunity to play a musical instrument in an organized ensemble as an elective class. We provide families the option to rent a district-owned instrument for a small yearly-fee, eliminating the obligation to purchase an instrument at current market price. The concert band serves as the core of the program, fostering both individual growth and a strong sense of ensemble musicianship.

Choir

Mrs. Lebahn directs a music program for all 4th grade, 5th grade, and 6th grade students, providing them a deeper focus on the fundamentals and literacy of music. Once students move onto junior high (7-8) and high school (9-12) they are given the option to take choir as an elective class during school hours . Elective choir courses emphasize proper vocal production, breathing techniques, music theory, and understanding stylistic elements of different musical periods.

Pep Band

Our pep band plays a vital role in community-building at LaMoure Public School. We perform new pop hits and rock tunes that the crowd loves to hear. Every student in the LaMoure band program (grades 7-12) will perform at select events throughout the school year!
